    Dr. Boniphace Luhende

    Dr. Boniphace Luhende is a Founder and Managing Partner of LUHENDE Advocates. He specializes in tax law, mining, petroleum law, general regulatory and compliance issues corporate finance, arbitration, civil and commercial litigation, with both academic and practical experiences.

    Dr. Luhende is the immediate former Solicitor General of the United Republic of Tanzania from October 2022-2024, before that he served as the Deputy Solicitor General from July, 2020. He is currently a Lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam, School of Law. Dr. Luhende previous work experience include working as a Tax Consultant at PriceWaterhouseCoopers Tanzania, Assistant editor Tanzania Tax Law Report (2006-2011 Edition), and editor Tanganyika Law Reports (2017 Edition), Project Leader for the World Bank Group’s African Mining Legislation Atlas (AMLA) Project, developed in partnership with the African Legal Support Facility (ALSF) and the University of Cape Town from 2014-2018. He was one of the local counsel in the negotiations and drafting of the Host Government Agreement (HGA) for the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project.
